Violent bag snatcher caught
Police on Monday nabbed a 49-year-old man in Peristeri, northern Athens, on charges that he snatched bags from women.
The suspect, a Pakistani national, has been linked to 34 bag-snatching cases and four attempts in various parts of Attica.
Authorities said he has been arrested in the past for similar offenses. In at least eight cases, victims had to be hospitalized.
Police are also looking for a 29-year-old Pakistani, who allegedly bought the stolen goods from the suspect.
