The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry and other authorities were investigating on Wednesday the alleged kidnapping of a Greek national in Yemen.

According to reports, a 56-year-old Piraeus businessman, owner of a company specializing in ship repairs, appeared in a video on You Tube and appealed to the Greek government for help, in English, claiming he was being held captive in the last 10 months.

According to a family member who spoke to Kathimerini, the man had been working for a company based in the port city of Aden for two years. He was last seen in December 2015, the family member said.
