Truck driver crushed in ship hold in Patra port
A truck driver was crushed by his vehicle in the hold of a ship docked at Patra port in western Greece on Thursday.
The 68-year-old was fatally injured when his truck backed into him as he tried to secure it in the hold of the Maltese-flagged Eurocargo Trieste.
The ship, a roll-on/roll-off vessel designed to carry wheeled cargo such as cars, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers and railroad cars, had arrived from Italy earlier in the day.
The 68-year-old was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
