Drug smuggler arrested after eventful chase
Police in northwestern Greece arrested a suspected drug smuggler in Thesprotia on Wednesday after an eventful chase.
The Polish national failed to stop at the request of a specialist police unit on Wednesday morning, instead driving off at high speed in his SUV.
The suspect abandoned his vehicle, which then caught fire, at the village of Paramythia and attempted to flee on foot.
Officers said they recovered large quantities of drugs in the car but did not give further details.
