Dance teacher sentenced for sexually molesting student

A court on the island of Kos sentenced a dance teacher to nine years in prison on Thursday for the repeated sexual molestation of one of his students.

The 63-year-old man had been arrested in March 2012 on the island of Rhodes after the girl’s parents filed a police complaint saying their daughter, then 15, had been sexually abused by her teacher.

According to the trial, he drove the girl, on a number of occasions, to remote locations, where he would force her to perform lewd acts.

The man worked as a traditional dance instructor in the village of Archangelos on Rhodes in the southeastern Aegean.
