Pilots of fallen Cessna aircraft found dead

A Hellenic Airforce helicopter on Monday discovered the wreckage of a Cessna aircraft that was reported missing on Sunday afternoon and the remains of the Cesna's two pilots in the debris.

The wreck of the plane, which disappeared on Sunday over the mountains of Achaia, in the Peloponnese, was found about three kilometers from the ski resort of Kalavryta.

Thick fog in the area had hampered the search effort earlier on Monday but the helicopter engineer eventually found the wreckage, and the bodies of the pilots, shortly after noon.

The name of one of the pilots, 32-year-old Air Force Captain Sotiris Antonopoulos, was announced.
