Spilios Spiliotopoulos. A parliamentary deputy since 1989, he is one of the few who has seen previous service in his current ministry, as deputy minister in the Mitsotakis government. This former air force pilot began his career with the New Democracy party during the time of its founder, Constantine Karamanlis, and was the late president’s senior aide. He has also served as chairman of the party’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and shadow defense minister.
