Giorgos Alogoskoufis. One of Karamanlis’s close advisers, he has no previous experience in government but he has had a long academic career in Britain. He acted as adviser to the Mitsotakis government but belongs to the «group of ’96,» the year he was chosen by the current prime minister for ND’s deputies of state list. A year later, he was made ND’s shadow finance minister.
