ESR members to be sworn in Monday
The new members of the National Broadcasting Council (ESR) will be sworn in on Monday by Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis.
Agreement over the composition of the council was finally struck by political parties earlier in the month after several failed attempts.
The deal is expected to pave the way forward after the country’s top administrative court, the Council of State, ruled that a government auction of television licenses was unconstitutional.
The deadlock was broken after parties agreed that more than just four licenses will be granted, as was the government’s initial plan.
