Greeks and Spanish expatriates lit candles yesterday evening outside the Spanish Embassy on Dionysiou Areopagitou Street to express solidarity with the Spanish people following Thursday’s horrific terrorist attacks in Madrid, in which nearly 200 people died. In a telegram yesterday to King Juan Carlos of Spain, President Costis Stephanopoulos expressed his ‘true grief, indignation and shame’ at the attacks.
