Footbridges to be built over busy Athens roads

Six footbridges will be constructed over dangerous road crossings in Athens, the Infrastructure Ministry announced on Friday.

Minister Christos Spirtzis signed off on the 13-million-euro project and announced a tender.

The bridges will be at the following points: the corner of Poseidonos and Kalamaki avenues in Alimos; Kifissias Avenue and Panormou Street in central Athens; Mesogeion Avenue in Aghia Paraskevi; Athinon Avenue in Haidari; and the intersection of Poseidonos Avenue and Afroditis Street in Palaio Faliro.
