Four suspected antiquities thieves nabbed near Mesolongi
Four people were remanded in custody on Monday in Aitoliko, near Mesolongi, western Greece, on suspicion that equipment found in their possession was used for illegal antiquities hunting.
The suspects – three men, aged 55, 47 and 36, as well as a 42-year-old woman – were intercepted by while driving through Aghia Triada in Aitoliko and police confiscated the items after a search of their car.
Police said that during a search of one of the suspects' homes, they found and confiscated coins of an undetermined age, swords and other weapons.
