Mortar shell found in downtown Patra
Police in Patra, western Greece, cordoned off a section of the city center early on Monday afternoon following the discovery of a mortar shell behind a primary cross-connection point on a street corner.
Army explosives experts were expected to collect the mortar and take it to a remote location for destruction.
The discovery came just a day after army experts defused a World War II bomb found under a gas station in Thessaloniki (photo).
