Ex-parliament speaker files lawsuits over not seeking war reparations

Former parliamentary speaker Zoe Constantopoulou, who broke away from SYRIZA in 2015 and formed her own far-left party, is taking legal action against President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras for purportedly not seeking war reparations from Germany.

She is also planning legal action against the documenta art show, being staged in both Athens and its home city Kassel in Germany this year, describing it as “a propaganda tool for the nonpayment of German reparations.”

Earlier this month, Constantopoulou tried to stop German Ambassador Peter Schoof from honoring the victims of a Nazi massacre in Distomo, central Greece.
