Athens bus and trolley bus drivers holding stoppage on Thursday

There will be no buses or trolley buses in the Greek capital from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday as drivers walk off the job in protest at “the deterioration of public transportation.”

The protesting workers will also hold a rally at 1 p.m. at the Transport Ministry in northern Athens, which may lead to traffic jams on Mesogeion Avenue.

Also, due to scheduled repairs by the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (DEDDIE), there will be no services on the Athens tram between the Megalou Alexandrou and Panagitsa stops between 8 a.m. and noon on Saturday.

Passengers will be able to use the special X7 bus service linking Nea Smyrni and Amfithea, which will make stops at the tram stations between Megalou Alexandrou and Panagitsa.
