Man found with more than 15 kilos of heroin arrested
A 47-year-old man arrested Monday on the Athens-Patra highway, near the junction for Aghioi Theodoroi, near Corinth, was found to be carrying a television stuffed with more than 15 kilos of heroin.
Police had been searching for the man as he had been identified as a suspect in a drug trafficking ring believed to have been transferring large amounts of heroin from the Athens area to Patra.
With the help of a sniffer dog, officers searched the car and found 33 packages of heroin hidden inside the television.
The drugs have an estimated street value of 190,000 euros, according to police.
