ND accuses PM of covering up arms procurement scandal

Opposition New Democracy on Friday accused Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of covering up a scandal involving the sale of Greek army missiles and bombs to Saudi Arabia.

During a press conference, the party presented a document allegedly showing that Vassilis Papadopoulos, the broker whom Defense Minister Panos Kammenos claims to have cut the deal with, did not in fact represent Saudi Arabia.

According to the same document, Papadopoulos appears to have at the time acted as a representative for Jordan.

“Why does [Tsipras] cover up this obvious scandal?,” party spokesman Maria Spyraki said.
