Lawyer injured during Nov. 17 clashes stabilizing
A 55-year-old lawyer, who has been in intensive care at Evangelismos Hospital since late Friday after she was hit in the leg with a flare during clashes in Exarchia between self-styled anarchists and police, was taken off respiratory support on Wednesday, medics said.
A resident of Exarchia, the woman was struck by the flare during riots that followed a rally held to mark the anniversary of a student uprising against Greece’s junta in 1973.
A statement issued by doctors said that her condition was stabilizing and she was showing signs of gradual improvement.
