The new bishop of Eleftheroupolis…
The new bishop of Eleftheroupolis, Chrysostomos Avgianos (c), was ordained yesterday in Athens Cathedral by Archbishop Christodoulos. Defying the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which claims control over 36 northern Greek sees, the Church of Greece has appointed three new northern bishops. The Patriarchate will examine the matter tomorrow.
