Parliament worker detained by police

An employee of the Greek Parliament was detained by police on Wednesday following an altercation with a traffic officer outside the central Athens building.

According to witnesses, the woman tried to drive through a cordon that traffic police had set up outside the Parliament’s garage to stop motorists for inspection.

She is then alleged to have verbally abused the officer who reported her to Parliament’s security guards, who handed her over to police.
