Appeal to Greece and Greeks for support
The Palestinian people and their leaders have traditionally had close relations with Greece. What do you expect from the new Greek government and what message would you like to send to the Greek people? That we are in absolute and urgent need of their support, particularly at this critical time, particularly in this year of the US presidential elections, which means that the Bush government will be tied up in the election campaign and will probably not be concerned with the Palestinian issue. That is why we are appealing to the European Union and especially to Greece, saying that we need your help to save the peace of generations which I signed with my partner (former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak) Rabin. Please tell our friends in Greece that we will never forget the valuable, steady support that we receive from all levels of Greek society.
