Firemen rescue seven people from fire in Athens building

Firefighters rescued seven people from an abandoned building in central Athens on Tuesday after a fire broke out there for reasons that were not immediately clear.

Homeless people had been residing on the premises, sources said.

A total of 24 firefighters, manning eight engines, were dispatched to the scene after reports of a fire there.

There were no reports of any injuries.
