Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis (r) welcomes former New Democracy foreign minister and current party candidate for the European elections Antonis Samaras ahead of a speech at the Zappeion Hall yesterday on the June 13 polls. Samaras, who brought down the last conservative government in 1993 by founding his own splinter party, rejoined the ND fold on Sunday and was given second place on the party’s ticket.
