Elderly farmer killed by train in northern Greece

An 85-year-old man was killed after his was hit by a train that was en route to Thessaloniki from Alexandroupoli in northern Greece.

It appears that the farmer was hit by the train while trying to cross the tracks, on Saturday.

The train came off the rails following the collision, which occurred near the village of Kastanousa in Serrres, but no one aboard was hurt.
