President Jacques Chirac sees off Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki after a meeting at the Elysee Palace in Paris. The Athens 2004 chief briefed Chirac on the Games’ preparations and gave him a copy of the Olympic torch. The Olympic Flame is due in Paris on June 25. To a reporter’s question of whether he would attend the Games, Chirac replied ‘Oui.’
