Kotzias to meet with Dimitrov at Delphi

Greece's former foreign policy chief, Nikos Kotzias, is reportedly scheduled to meet with North Macedonia Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov on Friday, according to reports.

The two men, who were responsible for signing the historic Prespes agreement ending a decades-old name dispute between the two neighbors, will reportedly be meeting on the sidelines of the ongoing Delphi Economic Forum.

Commenting on Twitter on Friday, Dimitrov said he had received a “warm welcome” from his “friend” Kotzias at the forum, adding that “the future of friendship, close cooperation and strategic partnership in all sectors is unlocked.”

“Our region is proud of its history. But with Prespa Agreement, we can now also be proud of the achievements of our time,” Dimitrov said in his tweet.

The focus of their meeting is expected to be the implementation of the agreement, which was signed last June and was ratified by Greece in January, and particularly some of the technical and practical problems that have arisen since.
