Conservatives lead 9.5 pct in poll on EU elections
A poll by news website Politico gives main opposition New Democracy a 9.5 percent lead over ruling SYRIZA in the European elections this month, according to a poll published Tuesday.
Conservatives are projected to garner 35.22 percent of the vote and nine seats in the EU Parliament, versus 25.74 percent for SYRIZA and seven seats.
Based on the same poll, the third party will be socialist Movement for Change (KINAL) with 7.4 percent and the fourth will be neo-Nazi Golden Dawn with 7.28 percent.
The Communist Party comes in fifth with 6.8 percent.
Politico notes that the projections are based on an aggregation of national polls and an algorithm that forecasts each party's election result.
