Road rage claimed life of elderly motorcyclist
An elderly motorcyclist who died in a crash in northern Greece five months ago was the victim of a road rage murder, police said on Saturday. A young Albanian national, whose name was not made public, is the prime suspect in the 65-year-old lottery ticket vendor’s death, police said. Officers had initially treated the demise of Constantinos Cosmiadis – who was found dead in early February beside his small motorcycle on a road near Galatades, some 90 kilometers west of Thessaloniki – as a fairly routine hit-and-run accident. However, during the ensuing investigation, police established that the motorcyclist had been involved in an argument with a car driver shortly before the crash. Officers believe the suspect followed Cosmiadis and ran him over in a fit of anger.
