Greek President to meet new Archbishop of America Elpidophoros
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos is on Tuesday morning to meet with the new Archbishop of America Elpidophoros.
Elpidophoros was selected earlier this month to replace Demetrios who resigned at the beginning of May.
The decision was taken by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Greek Archbishop Ieronymos met on Monday with Rowan Williams, the former archbishop of Canterbury.
Their meeting was also attended by the senior chaplain at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Athens, Canon Leonard Doolan, and the civil administrator of Mount Athos, Konstantinos Dimtsas.
