A 77-year-old Preveza man has just received his junior high school diploma with an average grade of 16.8 out of 20 and is planning to continue his education. Spyros Hadzaras, who worked as a confectioner, registered at the local evening school after reaching retirement. «Better late than never. You don’t need strong arms to study, but you do need a brain and fortunately there is nothing wrong with mine,» he told the Athens News Agency after being presented with his diploma. Hadzaras was forced by circumstances to drop out of school when he was a child, but said he had always harbored a dream to continue with his education. He has already registered for senior high and said he would like to continue on to university if his health permitted.
