A large tarpaulin…

A large tarpaulin bearing a picture of the fifth-century BC Parthenon temple is hoisted yesterday over one of modern Athens’s most historic buildings, the foremost of a group of eight 1930s refugee housing units on Alexandras Avenue. A number of Athens buildings that Games organizers deem unlovely are being covered up for the Olympics. Athenians successfully fought off government plans to demolish the refugee complex before the Games.
