Striking fire brigade employees on short-term contracts staged a sit-in protest outside the Public Order Ministry on Katehaki Avenue in Athens yesterday afternoon, as trapped motorists looked on. The protest led to all east-bound lanes of the road being closed off. Protesters, who staged a 24-hour strike, also marched down Mesogeion Avenue.
