A resident of the western central Athens suburb of Kolonos gestures toward the collapsed wall of an old building at 4 Keratsiniou Street, next to a plot where building foundations are being prepared. The rest of the house remained intact, and nobody was injured. Kolonos, which has yet to acquire the real estate cachet of other run-down Athens districts, is dotted with aging buildings in various states of disrepair.
