Destroyer sank
The decommissioned destroyer Themistocles III is hit by an electronic torpedo fired by the submarine Nereus in the Cretan Sea on Tuesday morning. The destroyer was decommissioned in 1992 after 21 years of service with the Greek navy. The destroyer sank to a depth greater than 1,200 meters. Instructions have been given to divisional police commanders to take increased security measures at all locations that might become a terrorist target, police said in a statement.
