Three-day visit to Egypt…
Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis (l) met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo yesterday, at the end of a three-day visit to Egypt. On Saturday, Karamanlis and his Egyptian counterpart, Ahmed Nazif, signed agreements on avoiding double taxation and on the transfer of technology and research. Afterward, Karamanlis said Greece ‘is ready to participate’ in NATO-led training of Iraqi ‘security elements,’ adding that this would not be in Greece or Iraq. Greece is among a group of NATO members criticized by the Alliance this month for refusing to assign officers to train Iraqis.
