Teachers’ protest rally…
Schoolchildren join a teachers’ protest rally which blocked off the center of Athens for around four hours yesterday afternoon. Around 6,000 demonstrators participated in the march, including teachers and students from primary school to university level. Protesters called for more state funding for the education sector. Universities and state technical colleges (TEIs) across the country were closed yesterday, while kindergarten and primary school teachers staged two-hour work stoppages.
