Corpse lacking head, hands found in dump
The decapitated body of a woman, from which the hands had also been severed, was discovered yesterday by police in a garbage dump near the northern city of Katerini. Officers found the body after a tip-off. They said the dead woman was aged between 30 and 40 but her nationality and identity had not yet been established. According to a coroner’s report, the woman had died approximately two days before the body was discovered in the landfill at Korinos, some 10 kilometers north of Katerini. The unidentified woman died somewhere else and her body was then taken to the dump, the coroner said. The cause of death is not yet known. Police found the severed head and hands in two bags and a cardboard box.
