Best use of officers
The 1,800 officers charged with monitoring Attica’s stores, construction sites, noise pollution and serving summonses could be better used: 1. To fully staff 18 new police stations in Attica (one station requires an average staff of 100 officers). 2. To staff 180 patrol cars during every eight-hour shift (with two officers in each car, over five shifts, including days off and a night shift). 3. To cover nine foot patrols of two officers each in each of Attica’s 102 police stations. 4. To boost the force of each of the 102 police stations in Attica with another 18 officers.
