A Christmas tree…

A Christmas tree outside Zappeion Hall in central Athens is reflected in a fountain last night during the inauguration of a small ice-skating rink erected by municipal authorities in front of the ornate, late 19th century building. Athens Mayor Dora Bakoyannis has said the rink will be accessible to Athenians and visitors free of charge, while expert skaters will provide displays. Municipal authorities have also set up a merry-go-round on central Syntagma Square, and are planning a series of open-air concerts for the holidays.
