Protesting cotton farmers…
Protesting cotton farmers used their tractors yesterday to block off the Thessaloniki-Edessa road at Halkidona, some 34 kilometers west of the northern port city. A similar protest was staged at the Kipi border crossing with Turkey, in Thrace. Farmers are demanding an increase in the quantity of their crop that would qualify it for EU subsidies.
