The questions

1. Recent events have shown, to many people’s surprise, «underground» relations between the Church and the judiciary. Is the concept of equality before the law being violated in practice and is a court official’s judgement influenced by his religious sentiment or political convictions? 2. How deep does the phenomenon go? Does it run as deep as is being claimed? Do you believe that these are isolated incidents and how do you comment on the fact that most of those involved already have a record of disciplinary action against them? Enough inspectors? 3. Are you satisfied with the official investigation under way? Are seven inspectors enough for 3,000 judges? 4. Do the revelations reflect the true situation in the justice system or has it progressed even deeper? What part do lawyers play in para-judicial circles? 5. As a result of these recent events, is there the danger that judges will lose the spirit of the law and be bound by formalities, afraid of taking responsibility? 6. What is your view of the crisis in the judiciary and the Church, and what about the moral humiliation that arises from the release of conversations that give «legitimacy» to the practice of phone-tapping?
