Dos and don’ts of Internet use

1. The Internet is an excellent source of information, but remember that not everything on it is true. 2. Always think carefully about whom or what you are giving your personal details to when filling out a form (for competitions, contributions, etc.) and for what purpose they will be used. 3. Never reveal your telephone number, e-mail and home address over the Internet because it can be used for unsolicited communication or approaches. 4. Install filter systems in your e-mail system to weed out unwanted correspondence so that you get only the messages you want. 5. Remember that Internet users are not always on the level. Web friends should have no problem about you talking to your parents about them or storing copies of your conversations.
