Two women sit in front of a closed jewelry shop in Athens yesterday morning in the midst of May Day celebrations, which had been postponed as May 1 clashed with Easter Sunday. Unions held a 24-hour strike to mark the day so there was no public transport in Athens, apart from trolley buses, and ferries remained in port. Up to 10,000 people joined a march through the city center.
