Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis…

Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis (l) is greeted by his British counterpart Tony Blair outside 10 Downing Street in London yesterday. The two leaders held talks lasting just over an hour and focusing mainly on EU matters, two weeks after the 25 member states failed to agree on a budget for 2007 to 2013. Britain will take up the presidency of the EU today and Karamanlis said that the meeting was ‘very useful’ and had taken place in a ‘very constructive atmosphere.’ The Greek premier said he put forward Greece’s views on how the EU should proceed.
