An air force investigator examines…

An air force investigator examines a piece of the wreckage from a jet which crashed yesterday morning in the uninhabited area of Sperhiada, northwest of Lamia, central Greece, during a training flight. The pilot, 27-year-old Nikos Danias, ejected safely and was rescued by helicopter and taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Nobody else was on board the A-7 Corsair jet and there were no injuries on the ground. The plane had taken off from the Andravida air force base in southern Greece. The cause of the crash was not immediately clear but was being investigated.
