A man speaks on the phone in front of a closed metro station in Athens yesterday during a nationwide strike. Public and private sector employees staged industrial action protesting the government’s labor reform plans – bringing much of Greece to a halt and paralyzing transport services. Olympic Airlines had just one flight per destination, but other carriers operated normally. Bank workers, hospital employees and staff at public utilities also took part in the strike.
