Resort hotels
The majority of Greeks (41 percent) will stay at resort hotels this year, and there are plenty of reasons for them to do so. Such hotels offer good facilities and service (making them the first choice of more than 40 percent of the older respondents, of whom just 10 percent will stay in rented rooms). Camping holidays appeal more to the young (6 percent of those under 25), while 18 percent of those under 17 will stay at the homes of friends. Older Greeks seem to prefer their family’s village home or their holiday house. Among those aged 45 and over, 10 percent prefer the former and almost 20 percent the latter.
