Opposition PASOK leader…

Opposition PASOK leader George Papandreou speaks at a gathering held to mark the 31st anniversary of the creation of the socialist party. Papandreou announced on Saturday an overhaul of the party’s youth wing by doing away with its organizational structure. Noticeably absent was former Prime Minister Costas Simitis, one of the party’s co-founders who were honored at the meeting. He was unable to attend the ceremony due to other obligations. The two-day gathering was attended by six to seven thousand of the party faithful at the Faliron complex in Athens.
