KEMEA’s work, although mainly theoretical, will complement that of the Inter-Balkan and Mediterranean Security Research and Training Center, which will have a more practical role. The center will design and carry out training exercises for foreign high-level security services and develop a common denominator for communication and action among nations in the region, which will facilitate cooperation between the authorities in dealing with cross-border security crises. Consideration is being given to making the center a department of KEMEA.
