Cell-phone sex videos swiped
Police arrested yesterday the owner of an Athens mobile-phone dealership suspected of selling amateur sex videos and photographs he had downloaded from cellular phones brought to his store for repairs. Police said the 44-year-old man downloaded thousands of videos from his customers’ phones, some of which are said to be of well-known local actors and sportsmen. He would then allegedly transfer the footage to other clients using bluetooth technology for a fee of 20 euros. Police arrested him after posing as customers interested in buying 183 short sex films from his store on Ippocratous Street in central Athens. The Athens News Agency reported that the man is a known celebrity and has appeared on a number of television shows. Police confiscated from his workshop two hard drives which contained more video files and a large number of scanned credit cards. Police also suspect that he was distributing the videos via the Internet.
